Hotbed Festival 2022

Hotbed returns this July with 3 packed days of live theatre.

Our featured piece this year is ‘Love, No Country‘ by Vanessa Ackerman. We presented this as a reading last year, and have worked with Vanessa to develop this first production – thrilled to be working with such a talented, original playwright.

We’ve also got workshop productions of 2 new pieces from our Young Writers’ Workshop which we’re very excited to present, using an ensemble cast which crosses both plays. The pieces are ‘Fallible‘ by Magdalene Bird and ‘Phenomenon’ by Martha Loader. Tickets can be booked by following the links or going to the Cambridge Junction website. Alongside our own productions we have some fabulous guest work by local, national and international artists. So come along to Hotbed, and see the thing we’ve all missed so much – LIVE THEATRE. And see it safely, at Cambridge Junction.

Held since 2002, Festival commissions have included work by Tim Etchells, Naomi Wallace, Steve Waters, Fraser Grace, Ed Harris, Diane Samuels, Jane Upton, Chris O’Connell and Janice Okoh as well as dozens of first-time and up-and-coming writers.
